ABOUT US

Preserving a Motorsport Legacy. Growing the Future.

RJ Wiggins MotoSport was founded on a simple belief:

Historic race cars belong on race tracks—not hidden away in garages, warehouses, and private collections.

For more than fifty years, Formula Ford has represented one of the purest forms of motorsport in the world. These lightweight, purpose-built open-wheel race cars have introduced generations of drivers to racing while providing some of the closest and most exciting competition in motorsports.

Yet every year, more of these cars disappear from active competition. Some sit forgotten in storage.

Others become static display pieces.

Many owners struggle to find parts, technical expertise, transportation, restoration

services, and support.

We believe that trend can be reversed.

Our mission is simple:

Preserve the Cars.

Support the Owners.

Introduce New Drivers.

Grow the Sport.

OUR STORY

How it All Began

My journey into Formula Ford didn't begin at a race track. It began while building one of the East Coast's largest and most respected vintage motorcycle repair and restoration businesses.

My path into Formula Ford grew from decades of experience in the trades, business ownership, mechanical problem-solving, and working around vintage motorcycles and specialized restoration projects. I spent years immersed in the world of vintage machinery. Every day involved solving problems associated with obsolete parts, aging technology, limited documentation, and preserving historic vehicles for future generations.

We work on everything your dealer doesn't.

That meant helping owners maintain and restore motorcycles that many modern dealerships could no longer support. Vintage motorcycles often present unique challenges:

• Obsolete parts

• Discontinued components

• Limited technical documentation

• Aging technology

• Specialized repair procedures

• Lost industry knowledge

Over the years, we built a reputation for solving difficult problems and keeping historic machines operating when others said it couldn't be done.

More importantly, we learned that preserving vintage machinery requires far more than technical skill.

It requires patience. Research. Relationships. And a genuine commitment to supporting the people who own and enjoy these machines.

Those lessons continue to guide everything we do today.

THE SPARK

In 2023, I traveled to the Isle of Man to experience the legendary Isle of Man TT firsthand. That trip renewed my interest in motorsport and left a lasting impression.

What I witnessed was unlike anything I had ever experienced.

The passion.

The history.

The engineering.

The courage.

It was a reminder that motorsport, at its core, is not about corporate sponsorships or massive budgets.

It's about people, machines, craftsmanship, and the relentless pursuit of improvement.

That trip left a lasting impression and reignited a lifelong passion for motorsports.

But it wasn't until several years later that everything came together.

In 2026, I had the opportunity to attend the Formula One Grand Prix in Monaco.

Watching Formula One from a yacht in Monaco Harbor, surrounded by some of the most

advanced racing technology and iconic scenery in the world, was an unforgettable

experience.

The speed.

The precision.

The atmosphere.

The history.

The competition.

It represented the absolute pinnacle of motorsport.

And yet, standing there, I realized something important.

For most enthusiasts, Formula One is something to admire—not something they will ever realistically participate in.

Like millions of racing fans around the world, I found myself asking:

From the Isle of Man to Monaco

What is the closest thing to Formula One that an ordinary enthusiast can realistically own, drive, maintain, and race?

When I began researching the answer, I kept coming back to Formula Ford.

Lightweight.

Open-wheel.

Purpose-built.

Driver-focused.

Accessible.

Formula Ford represented everything I loved about racing.

It offered the purity of an open-wheel race car without the enormous financial barriers associated with professional motorsport.

The more I learned, the more convinced I became that Formula Ford remains one of the greatest opportunities in motorsports today.

Not just because of the cars.

But because of the community, the accessibility, and the opportunity it creates for ordinary enthusiasts to experience authentic racing.

That realization became the foundation for RJ Wiggins MotoSport.

WHY FORMULA FORD?

Formula Ford has long been considered one of the purest forms of racing ever created.

No traction control.

No driver aids.

No excessive horsepower.

No unnecessary complexity.

Just a driver, a race car, and the pursuit of improvement.

The more I learned about Formula Ford, the more I recognized familiar challenges.

Cars sitting unused for years.

Parts becoming harder to find.

Technical knowledge slowly disappearing.

Owners struggling to find qualified support.

The similarities to the vintage motorcycle world were impossible to ignore.

Just as Vintage Moto USA helped preserve historic motorcycles, I realized there was an opportunity to help preserve historic open-wheel race cars.

But more importantly, there was an opportunity to help preserve the community that surrounds them.

MORE THAN RESTORATION

RJ Wiggins MotoSport was never intended to become just another race shop.

The goal was never simply to restore race cars.

The goal was to become a steward of the sport.

To preserve the cars.

Support the owners.

Introduce new drivers.

And help ensure that Formula Ford remains one of the most accessible and rewarding forms of motorsport available.

We believe Formula Ford represents something incredibly important in today's racing world.

A genuine grassroots pathway into motorsports.

A place where driver skill still matters.

A place where enthusiasts can own, maintain, and race a real open-wheel race car without a professional racing budget.

A place where lifelong friendships are formed in paddocks, garages, workshops, autocrosses, hill climbs, and race weekends across the country.

Keeping Formula Ford Alive

OUR MISSION

The future of Formula Ford depends on more than preserving race cars.

It depends on preserving:

• Knowledge

• History

• Craftsmanship

• Community

• Opportunity

That means:

• Restoring historic race cars

• Supporting existing owners

• Helping new enthusiasts enter the sport

• Promoting grassroots racing opportunities

• Encouraging participation in autocross, hill climbs, and road racing

• Reducing barriers to entry whenever possible

• Building a stronger Formula Ford community

Every restored car represents another opportunity to keep the sport alive.

Every new driver represents the future of Formula Ford.

LOOKING FORWARD

We believe many people would be surprised to learn that Formula Ford ownership and

participation can be comparable to other enthusiast hobbies such as:

• Competitive karting

• High-end simulator racing

• Off-road recreation

• Track-day programs

• Classic car ownership

Yet few people ever discover that opportunity.

We're working to change that.

Through restoration, storage, transportation, race support, education, community outreach, future arrive-and-drive programs, and advocacy for grassroots motorsports, our goal is to help create a clear pathway into the sport.

Because every Formula Ford deserves a driver.

And every aspiring driver deserves a path into motorsport.

OUR COMMITMENT

The mission remains remarkably similar to the one that helped build Vintage Moto USA:

Preserve the Machines.

Preserve the Knowledge.

Preserve the Community.

Everything else follows.

Affordable. Authentic. Open-Wheel Racing.

Preserving the Past. Growing the Future.
